Your tasks

  • Collaborate closely with the Shop Floor Manager, production personnel, and maintenance teams to schedule preventative maintenance (PM) activities with minimal disruption to operations. Ensure all required maintenance documentation, work orders, and compliance paperwork are accurately completed and submitted for annual and semi-annual PM closures. Identify and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce maintenance turnaround times, and improve machine reliability.
  • Provide detailed updates and technical communication to the Shop Floor Manager regarding critical machine failures, ongoing repair activities, escalation items, and support requirements involving OEM support from Liechti AG. Support Service Engineers with identifying required spare parts, coordinating procurement activities, placing service-related orders, and arranging external vendor or contractor support to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance activities. Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Assist the Shop Floor Manager and Operations Manager by coordinating Service Engineer schedules, managing workforce coverage, Training new employees on work procedures and safety practices. Conduct shift briefings and communicate production goals.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and cleanliness within machine areas, maintenance workspaces, and service team environments to support safety, efficiency, and professional workplace standards.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain a comprehensive service library containing machine manuals, technical documentation, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and equipment records. Ensure all service tooling, calibration equipment, and maintenance resources are properly stored, inventoried, and maintained within UMUS cabinets and designated storage areas. Ensure daily reports are accurate and submitted on time. Create written work instructions for routine service procedures. Fully document and maintain all machine maintenance and repair work.
  • Insure volumetric and dynamic standards set by Liechti AG are maintained using IBS system at 6-month and 12-month intervals following completion of PM and maintain benchmark criteria. Determine and perform additional IBS checks, any time volumetric and or dynamic characteristics of machine that could be compromised due to service intervention by UMUS service team.
  • Any additional duties assigned by the Shop Floor Manager

Your profile

  • Associate’s degree and formal mechanical and/or electrical training and experience, in a machine tool environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with the repair and service of Milling machines and related products and equipment. Experience with SIEMENS 840D control and SIEMENS Step 7. Previous supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Systems, including Work, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains or similar software programs will be helpful.
