Your Team
What we are looking for
You’ll work as part of an international and growing set of teams, located between Nottingham (UK) and Dusseldorf (Germany). Working closely with domain experts, creatives and platform engineers, you’ll help deliver our software and data-driven products. This combination of full stack application development and working with the algorithms at our platform’s core, will support the energy sector through apps spanning the design of new renewable generation assets, operational support and maintenance of existing assets, and modelling and optimisation of trading activities and demand-side management. Building solutions through our data lake – utilising powerful big data technologies and a microservice-based approach – project opportunities range widely from building attractive web applications coupled with complex algorithmic logic, to innovative use of augmented reality and object recognition to transform power plant inspections.


With technology and energy being fast-evolving fields, you’ll receive technical and non-technical development opportunities, through on-the-job experience, external training and peer support and mentoring. You’ll have a lot of responsibility, and you will be able to directly manage the implementation of your ideas and work. In addition to regularly working across the company in project activities, you will do a series of placements across Uniper. You are expected to do at least one international and one domestic placement within the company in areas of your choice. Each placement is generally 3-5 months in duration, and are an excellent opportunities to learn the industry and gain experience in different fields
Who we are seeking
To join us, you should have a Computer Science or closely related degree, and experience and/or understanding of web applications, working with structured and unstructured data, and mathematical and statistical concepts to support more complex algorithmic work.
You’ll ideally hold experience with;
  • Python
  • the VueJS JavaScript framework
  • NoSQL and SQL databases.
  • You should also have excellent communication skills, allowing you to work closely with clients, technical experts and non-technical stakeholders alike,
  • Willingness to travel overseas for short periods (in addition to the international placement).
