Laboratory Supervisor (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Physical and Chemical Laboratories
  • Trains and supervises the Lab Technicians
  • Reviews production orders against customer requirement and assigns and plans required tests
  • Works with Quality Manager and Metallurgy Manager to disposition nonconforming product
  • Performs production testing as required to cover for absences or workload surges
  • Ensures test equipment and written procedures are compliant with industry and customer standards
  • Responsible for ensuring calibration and general upkeep of equipment and maintaining inventory of consumables
  • Assists the Quality department with Material Certifications, Pre-Production Part Approvals (PPAP) and deviation requests (RFD)
  • Coordinates contracted outside laboratory testing
  • Assists the Metallurgy department in material defect investigations and operates of an offsite Scanning Electron Microscope

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Material Science & Engineering, or equivalent
  • Management experience a plus
  • Working experience (minimum 5 years) in comparable roles
  • Knowledgeable in all types of chemical and physical testing of steel
  • Knowledgeable in CNC machining
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong background in Quality Assurance and Control
