With its 1500 employees at 14 locations in Switzerland, the company guides some 1,2 million civil and military flights a year safely and efficiently through Europe's most complex airspace. To ensure that we continue to fulfill this task in the future, we are seeking a/an:
Radio System Engineer for Air-Ground Communication
  • Manage project or changes aiming to guaranty continuity of AIR-GROUND services including planning, development and implementation of radio communication systems and equipment for air traffic control, in consultation with the line manager and as part of the company strategy
  • Manage and coordinate activities related to running equipment in close collaboration with maintenance team and act as “engineer specialist” in case of operational modification or technical issue for equipment installed in all radio station over Switzerland
  • Endorse the product manager role in order to manage the products obsolescence, the evolution of the related technologies and the equipment harmonization at the Swiss level (Zürich, Geneva and regional airport)
  • Responsible for the respect of the application of the norms, standards, national and international laws linked to safety, security and quality of the radio transmission and reception equipment (recommendations and directives issued by external organisations)
  • Support projects, working groups and studies as technical expert for elaboration of safety assessment, operational and technical concepts and procedures linked to radio communication
  • Perform studies and analysis for internal and external request in order to identify basic problems in radio communication domain
  • Engineer and Master (or Bachelor) degree in telecommunications (or equivalent) with special knowledge of the VHF / UHF radio technologies
  • Proven experience in project management (initial phases, definitions and analysis of specifications, concept, planning, budget, realization and documentation) with open and creative personality as well as good staff management skills
  • Experience in building process would be an asset
  • Swiss citizen (mandatory to access military radio sites)
  • Fluent in German (oral and written) and sound knowledge of English (spoken and written): a prerequisite (level C1 of the European Standard).
  • Good command of French would be an asset
  • Strong team spirit with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to regularly travel, mainly in Switzerland
