As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join our Pump Mechanics team and contribute to real improvements to our insulin pumps and future product generations.
You will support the team in turning technical ideas and engineering questions into tested, documented and implementable product changes. Your work will cover different stages of mechanical product development, from CAD design and technical documentation to testing, analysis and root cause investigation.
You will take ownership of defined tasks while receiving close support and guidance from experienced colleagues. Through your work, you will gain practical insight into how a medical device is improved from the initial technical question through the design phase to verification and implementation.

Your main tasks
- Create and update 3D CAD models, technical drawings and product specifications
- Support the development and refinement of mechanical components and assemblies
- Support design reviews and the implementation of design changes
- Plan and perform mechanical and verification tests
- Support root cause investigations and troubleshooting activities
- Contribute to technical reports, design documentation and engineering records
- Support the evaluation and implementation of product improvements with proper testing, documentation and communication
- Collaborate with colleagues from Product Care, Development, Verification, Production and other functions
- Take responsibility for defined engineering tasks and follow them through to completion
Your profile
- Currently studying mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- Strong interest in practical product development, mechanical design, testing and problem-solving
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD is required
- Knowledge of Siemens NX is an advantage
- Structured, analytical and hands-on approach to problem solving
- Ability to understand how mechanical systems work and identify potential improvements
- Comfortable documenting technical work clearly, accurately and systematically
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from different technical backgrounds
- Reliable, curious and motivated to take responsibility for your work
- Good written and spoken English and German
