The ZEISS Digital Partners unit based in Munich, Oberkochen and Jena is realizing cutting-edge customer-centric digital solutions jointly with the Segments of the ZEISS Group.

Your role at ZEISS Digital:

You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the company’s Data Operations, Smart Data Platform, Enterprise Data Management and actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation at ZEISS. In this challenging management function, you will help our business units to take advantage of data assets by making data available in a streamlined and scalable fashion. You will shape DataOps at ZEISS from inception to launch working closely together in joint, co-located projects with the ZEISS business units as well as our Design & Insights and Architecture & Engineering functions at ZEISS Digital Partners. You will define the cornerstones of scalable data and analytics solutions to provide a superior customer experience and ensure their organizational implementation together with our business units. With your team and your fellow colleagues, you will build our capability to stay on top of data and analytics innovation and make sure that decisions regarding the use of data are made in the interest of ZEISS as well as our customers.

You have:

  • An excellent university degree, preferably in computer science, business, natural sciences, or engineering, paired with a passion for both digital technologies and ZEISS’ products and markets
  • Proven track record, and technology understanding, in data operations / data architecture / data management / data analytics topics
  • Team leadership experience or Data Ops product manager experience and the ability to drive topics
  • Experience in building streamlined and scalable data operations in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure environment is a plus (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse)
  • Leadership experience in leading Agile teams to create actionable outcomes
  • Experience and good knowledge of relevant environments like SAP S4/HANA, MDG and Cloud Platforms (Azure and/or AWS/ GCP); Experience in Microsoft Azure environment is a plus (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse)
  • Strong capabilities in analytical thinking, statistical process control and the ability to work and lead an environment that works in continuous delivery of data analytics pipelines
  • Rather outgoing personality that reaches out to stakeholders internally and externally and can convey rules / definitions
  • Strong communication skills paired with empathy to easily navigate corporate as well as navigate managerial / business as well as tech environments
  • Fluent English, Advanced German language skills preferred but not mandatory
  • An existing network of experts in the domain and the capability to build-up new networks internally to jointly derive requirements for the target picture is considered a strong plus
