Field Customer Support Specialist

To provide world-class Support, both onsite and remotely, to assist North American customers & ZEISS field representatives on Carl Zeiss Light Microscopy Systems to ensure that a high-level of customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:

  • ~50% Time providing post-installation support for Confocal systems, high-end light microscopes, and light microscope systems by going on site for troubleshooting, Issue resolution or escalations, where needed.
  • ~50% Time-Independently providing product and applications support for Customers and Zeiss field representatives, both sales and service, via phone, email, and remote support.
  • Take appropriate steps to bring any open support cases to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Upon approval from Manager, participate in company events such as product demonstrations and launches, conferences, workshops, and sales/ technical training.
  • Creating new system sales, and after sales leads, following an interaction with a customer while working on Customer Care Tickets.
  • Other duties as requested by immediate Manager.

You are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, medical, physics, optics, or materials research field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Broad background knowledge of advanced microscopy techniques, imaging applications, and good problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work successfully as an individual contributor or as part of a team
  • IT and computer hardware skills, are required. Programming skills are not strictly required but a plus (e.g. python scripting).
  • Superior communications skills. Able to converse readily in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to analyze complex problems and make sound judgments based on competing priorities.
  • Experience in maintenance of optical imaging equipment or related professional experience a plus.
