The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing software test plans, procedures and reports to ensure that our products meet the high quality expectations of ZEISS and our customers. May work as software quality assurance lead on specific projects and provide work leadership for lower level employees.

We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:

• Develop, refine and execute software test plans based on Software Requirements and intended operating environments in cooperation with product management and the software development team
• Use tools to manage test cases, test results, and defects
• Work with the development team to define requirements
• Define test cases, as well as design and develop tools for functional, stress, performance, security and load testing
• Proficiency in various test methods and testing using both automated and manual approaches
• Collaborate with the development team and help debug and root-cause software and system issues
• Identify patterns and trends to help detect defects
• Represent the Software QA team in project scrum meetings and cross-functional meetings
• Participate in R&D initiatives to define and improve processes

You are:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 4+ years of software industry experience
• Must have in-depth knowledge on Software Quality Engineering fundamentals
• Familiarity with defect management systems and other industry standard test management tools (e.g. HP Quality Center, Clear Quest, JIRA, DOORS, Microsoft TFS, MTM, etc.)
• Knowledge on at least one programming/scripting language (Java, C#, C++, Perl etc.)
• Experience designing and developing test frameworks
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to triage issues
