The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing the key digital marketing assets that drive consumer demand/traffic toward and through the purchasing funnel ultimately leading to conversion, and subsequently retention. They are responsible to develop, implement, track and optimize our digital marketing and social media efforts. This includes the planning and execution of all digital aspects of the consumer facing experience, including the Zeiss.com US website, the Zeiss.com webshop ecommerce solution, digital retail support for Zeiss’s direct reseller network, the management of social media (Instagram, Facebook and Youtube) with our creative agency, and driving the development of paid digital marketing – including promoted social, SEM and programmatic – with our digital marketing agency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ZEISS.com Consumer Optics – US Site Management: Act as key US liaison with the corporate global website team based in Germany, Manage the overall North American product catalog and creative content strategy to ensure US website is tailored to the US market while remaining compliant with the global direction, Actively manage Search Engine Optimization (SEO) of the US site, Optimize the customer journey to conversion (via direct, and/or via the dealer network), Monitor and maintain General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) for the US efforts
  • Zeiss.com Webshop: Manage the overall Zeiss e-commerce site - product catalog, creative content, reporting. Work with marketing team to coordinate the webshop into the overall consumer marketing plan to drive conversion
  • Social Media Management: Plan overall US SoMe strategy in conjunction with the segment marketing managers. Work directly with the creative agency on channel selection, overall digital objectives and messaging strategy. Set KPIs, track results. Daily interaction with creative team (including external agencies) in developing content, providing clear direction, managing editorial efforts, and scheduling posts. Provide monthly reports to corporate headquarters.
  • Digital Marketing: Plan overall US Digital marketing strategy for SEM, programmatic marketing and promoted social. Drive the brief writing and direction setting with the digital marketing agency. Set KPIs, track results, adjust tactical plan based upon results. Develop reporting and summary overview of digital marketing programs for marketing managers to monitor and adjust plan based upon results
  • Digital Asset Management: Work with other ZEISS entities in indexing, maintaining and delivering digital content and other web properties to the media data base. Coordinates all digital marketing creative requirements with the creative and digital marketing agency

You are:

  • At least 5 plus years of Digital Marketing/ Marketing Experience
  • Mandatory professional skillset: Current with the latest trends, practices and available resources in the Digital Marketing field (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Rival IQ, Iconosquare and other various SoMe content management programs and KPI monitoring/reporting resources. Organizationally adept. Creatively minded. Strong Multi-tasking abilities. Self-motivated, results driven. Honest and ethically minded
  • Technical skills required: Adobe/CQ5, Photoshop, InDesign, video editing and other similar programs. Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to learn proprietary systems. Proficient in the utilization of consumer data bases. Strong analytical skills and data driven thinking. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Web Design / Graphic Design
