The primary responsibility of the Expediter is to assist in the movement and positioning of stalled or late Rx orders within production and provide real time information to customer service.

The Expediter is an intermediate level position. Under minimal supervision the Expediter will print out and audit the daily late job report, and the electronic expediter report, communicate the status of Rx orders to department supervisors, take proactive steps necessary to facilitate the movement of Rx orders listed, and communicate issues or concerns with the movement of Rx orders within production.

• Prepare work schedule to meet customer demand
o Ship 40+ late/rush jobs per shift
• Ensure quality meets CZV standards
• Identify problems, troubleshoot and implement corrective actions
• Demonstrate ownership of objectives and results
• Monitor (Jobs), use variety of tools to track (Visual and DVI)
o Call stack/OE Return
o Sister Lab Report
o All late documents
o Email
• Actively participate in management meetings and work closely with all department managers
• Actively work in all areas of Lab by moving jobs from one department to another
• Strengthen Customer Service and the Lab internal department
• Handle all unidentified frame inquiries
• Initiate lab evaluation forms for returns (Inspect returns)
• Full understanding of Lab OTD, basic lens styles, material, coating, etc.
• Provide follow-up status updates on processing orders (ex. Restarts, delays, etc.)
• Reply to all email correspondence within 1 hour

You are:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 10+ years of production optical experience
• Working knowledge of pre-surface, surfacing, coating and finish departments
• Excellent communication skills (Verbal / Written)
• Strong working knowledge of Quality Systems/Processes)
• Ability to organize and effectively manage resources
• Strong initiative and follow-up skills
• Ability to partner and work closely with fellow employees
• Customer Service Mindset
• Open Availability
o Expeditor start time - 1 hour before Lab Scheduled shifts
• Energy and enthusiasm for Production and Problem Solving
• Reliable, honest, dependable and be able to follow directions either written or verbal
• Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Be able perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.
• Must be able to regularly list 10 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment. Have the ability to focus for long periods of time
• Patience to fully see the task through is a must
• Ability to communicate with other associates in a clear, concise manner
• Professional demeanor
