Regional Sales Manager - West

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is part of a professional team of sales and application experts to successfully represent the Company in a defined geographical region for the planned and aggressive selling of Company products through both direct sales force and Distributor network. The RSM will mainly focus on the selling of CMMs in the territory but can also be responsible for other products in the ZEISS product portfolio. The RSM provides motivation to distributor sales personnel in order to meet sales objectives. They are expected to drive the sales activities in the territory, either through distribution sales or directly with the customer.

We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:

  • Represents the company in product demonstrations, training and presentations on all machinery and configurations to customers and potential customers within the confines of the assigned territory.
  • Establishes and maintains a sound sales management capable of achieving goals.
  • Supervises, trains and develops a competent distributor sales and technical staff in a manner which will lead to profitable sales growth and increased market share.
  • Generates timely quotations top customers/potential customers in assigned territory.
  • Processes/Qualifies sales leads generated from trade journals and other promotional product literature.
  • Expected make at least the minimum required face-to-face sales call every week, either with or without distribution.
  • Expected to keep the ZEISS CRM up to date. Updating should occur every day.
  • Evaluates sales activities, progress and results then takes appropriate measures.
  • Develops short and long term goals as to value, market position and profit on existing and new products.
  • Provides Area Sales Manager and Business Sales Manager with sales/performance reports.
  • Provides all pertinent information to the order processing and service groups to ensure satisfaction.
  • Follows up with customers after delivery to complete all sales and conditions.
  • Supplies information necessary to maintain a sales forecasting system.
  • Supervises sales activities of authorized representatives in the assigned territory.
  • Plan and implement in-house demonstrations.
  • Encourages team environment: in the field with other sales personnel, applications team and the overall company.
  • Provides sales forecasting on a monthly via CRM.
  • Interfaces with key groups within the company (Operations, Service, Engineering, Management)

You are:

  • High School Diploma is required , a 4 year Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Technical background is required.
  • Experience in Sales or Sales Support along with an understanding of capital equipment, manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
