One of our core processes at the highest level is the cut / edge & fit- process, i.e. the individual shaping and fitting of our ophthalmic lenses into a wide variety of spectacle frames. Leading quality, best service, flexibility and optimized cost are key success factors.
ZEISS Vision Care is providing this service to our customers – depending on the local supply infrastructure - in a global network of more than 80 sites, clustered into small, medium and large operational centers. We constantly develop this footprint towards efficient and sustainable, highly industrialized processes by providing the highest degree of individuality.

Your role

  • As the Head of Cut, Edge & Fit (CEF) Operations Strategy & Footprint, you will lead a small team to review, develop and align our Operations Strategy and Footprint plan as well as the Implementation Roadmap.
  • In this capacity, you will report directly to the Head of Global CEF Operations and be part of our dynamic and intercultural Global Operations Team. From Day One you will be exposed to a demanding mix of operational and strategic operations tasks and projects.
  • In the context of our production network you will help to find the best footprints for several demands in different locations, create best-practice approaches from order processing until delivery to our customers, implement new business processes and support the acceleration
  • of digitization in this area.

Your profile

  • Above-average university degree/master’s degree preferably in international management, industrial engineering or business administration paired with in-depth knowledge of production technology and industrialization
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, collaborative and teamworking skills, structured and results-oriented working methods
  • Professional experience gained in operations, ideally in strategic planning, manufacturing footprints and value streams, process optimization with state-of-the-art methodologies, maybe also in logistics and supply chain management
  • Exposure to international team collaboration gained during practical training or working abroad is a plus
  • Flexibility to work at different locations around the world
  • High level of communication skills – very good knowledge of English and German
