The Microscope Sales Representative position is a highly skilled and highly technical sales position which relies heavily on consultative selling skills to meet customer requirements and individual/territorial sales targets. Success requires strong customer support, both product and application, for all BioScience and Materials Science products in the assigned territory. This requires technical knowledge of each of the various systems and components and excellent time management skills.
The selling and support of microscopes and related components in the BioSciences and Materials Sciences requires the following skills:

• Consulting and Information gathering
• Proposal generation and presentation (including a technically correct quotation)
• Technical and proof-of-concept product demonstration
• Strong negotiation skills
• Maintenance of deal related data in the CRM system
• Recognizing market trends and gaining competitive intelligence within territory
• A strong focus on customer retention, profitability and growing the customer base.

You are:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in biological sciences or engineering preferred from an accredited college or university. Working knowledge of high-end microscopy, including imaging techniques beyond simple image capture and manipulation (e.g., automated time lapse with Z-stack, etc). High-level knowledge of personal computers and strong presentation skills required. Positive “can do” attitude coupled with a willingness to continuously acquire product and application knowledge independently. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team sales environment. Prior experience in technical sales and managing a field coverage area for technical sales or product support a big plus.
