The Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for working closely with the Software Development and Product teams to establish quantitative measurements and techniques for ensuring software quality; developing software test methods and conducting complex software tests. This position will touch every aspect of the software life cycle, serve as software quality assurance lead on specific projects and provide technical leadership for SQA engineers.

We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:

• Develop, refine and execute software test plans based on Software Requirements and intended operating environments in cooperation with product management and the software development team
• Identify, validate and use tools to manage test cases, test results, and defects
• Assist in the development and refinement of product and software requirements to insure they are testable by defining test methods
• Develop templates and tools for functional, stress, performance, security and load testing
• Develop and maintain detailed software verification schedules
• Identify patterns and trends to help detect defects across the product portfolio
• Represent the Software QA team in project scrum meetings and cross-functional meetings
• Lead R&D initiatives to define and improve processes
• Assist in the identification, selection and implementation of software lifecycle management tools
• Responsible for supervising the activities of junior team members

You are:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of software development and test.
• Three (3) + years experience in the medical device industry in software design, verification and validation.
• Advanced experience with defect management systems and other industry standard test management tools (e.g. HP Quality Center, Clear Quest, JIRA, DOORS, Microsoft TFS, MTM, etc.)
• Software Quality Engineer certification is a plus.
• Must have in-depth knowledge on Software Quality Engineering fundamentals
• Intermediate knowledge on at least one programming/scripting language (Java, C#, C++, Perl etc.)
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to triage issues
