Credit and Collections Specialist III

To strengthen our team, we are seeking a Credit & Collections Specialist III. The Credit & Collections Specialist III will perform a variety of accounting tasks to support Carl Zeiss Vision’s Finance Department. Responsible for collection of assigned past due balances including dispute resolution. Assists in the preparation and distribution of reports.

Your job

• Contact customers and sales regarding overdue balances
• Place accounts on credit hold in accordance with department policy
• Reviews and releases pending orders within department guidelines
• Responsible for overseeing/directing resolution of customer disputes
• Reconcile customer accounts
• Initiate account adjustments
• Process requests for invoice copies, duplicate statements and signed proofs of delivery
• Processes monthly/semi-monthly/daily credit card charges for customer payment
• Package accounts for collection agency referral as needed
• Generate special monthly customer statements
• Review and recommend changes in existing customer credit limits
• Answer department phones
• Experience in credit checking preferred
• Backs-up the Credit Specialist in processing credit applications and workflows
• Generate and distribute special agings to sales and approved third parties
• Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned

Our requirements

• Minimum of 5 years business-to-business collection experience for a distribution company
• Excellent customer service skills, effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Highly proficient in reconciling customer accounts
• Experience with MS Office is required
• Intermediate level Excel skills are required
• Experience with DVI/SAP is desirable but not required
