We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:

  • The Academic Program Specialist has overall responsibility for developing the educational market space in North America. They communicate with academic institutions across North America to promote ZEISS IQS solutions as the tools of choice in manufacturing programs at all levels of academic institutions. Communication is performed through direct marketing and conferences.
  • The Academic Program Specialist provides applications knowledge in relation to Calypso operation, functions, and programming within educational environment. They perform pre- and post-sale visits as necessary to ensure the correct product is chosen and the institution has the necessary training to integrate the product in their curriculum.
  • In addition, this person works with industry partners and certifying bodies and our academic customer base to learn what additional content is needed for training for credentialing efforts and curricula and develops the training content.
  • The Academic Program Specialist works with the purchasing department at prospective educational customer sites and legal team at ZEISS to learn their sales process and ensure that sales may be completed.
  • Able to discuss the metrological requirements with Educators
  • Self-driven, self-organized, creative.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable presenting information to external audience as one on one or in front of larger group.

You are:

  • Strongly preferred experience in a sales and customer training capacity.
  • 2-3 years CALYPSO software operation and applications skills preferred.
  • Willing to travel as necessary up to 75% to support the business objectives.
  • Willing to travel on weekends to support the business objectives as necessary.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to draw out and document customer requirements that form the basis of the contractual scope of work.
  • Ability to sell our products in the academic world.
  • Ability to perform in a Teaching/Trainer related capacity as necessary during technology demonstrations
