Our customer work on some of the most profound and challenging scientific questions of our time, at Carl Zeiss Microscopy USA, the 3D Life-Sciences Product and Sales Specialist (3D LS PASS) is the subject matter expert Lightsheet, for Confocal Laser Scanning, and Wide-field Fluorescence Microscopy products and applications focused on ensuring customer as well as business success. The 3D Life-Sciences Product and Sales Specialist will be based out of San Francisco/Bay Area closely working at the Zeiss Microscopy Customer Center in Dublin, CA and travelling to customers sites across North America

We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:

  • In this Technical Sales role, she/he interfaces with the Zeiss Account Mangers/Business Partners and customers as the solutions architect, applying their product knowledge and expertise to customer applications in order to drive customer success and product sales.
  • She/he interfaces with customers as the subject matter expert and aids in customer trainings and support for Lightsheet, Confocal and high-end widefield microscopy product lines.
  • Success in this customer facing role requires an agile mindset with a strong customer focus based on foundational understanding of optics and imaging and their application to life-sciences.
  • She/he possesses a curious mindset and thrives in a team environment. Is always up to date on latest technological trends in microscopy and computing. Communicates routinely with the team and provides feedback on customer applications, market conditions, system performance, trainings and support.
  • She/he enjoys the technical as well as business aspects of the position, is organized and motivated to drive business objectives and customer success.

You are:

  • Solid understanding of foundational concepts in Lightsheet, wide-field Fluorescence and Confocal Microscopy.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to execute business goals
  • Experience in applying Lightsheet, Confocal and Fluorescence microscopy to life-sciences applications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in private/public forums
  • Proficiency in computing hardware, software and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Willingness and ability to travel 80% to customer sites for technical demonstrations, seminars and meetings across North America
  • 5+ years of experience in Life-Sciences/Bioengineering/Analytical environments applying fluorescence and confocal microscopy to research applications
  • BS in Life-Sciences or an Analytical Field of study or appropriate experience in microscopy/instrumentation. MS or PhD Preferable but not a requirement.
