Your tasks
- Drive category expertise through an understanding of required technologies, geographical spread, supply markets & trends, cost drivers and the impact to GFMS business model
- Work closely with key stakeholders to support unique selling positions ahead of the competition, provide effective sourcing strategies that enable new business opportunities and innovation, step change improvements in quality, service at competitive cost
- Develop supplier relationships that leverage supplier capabilities, improve supply continuity and reduce total cost of ownership
- Category Management & Strategic Procurement: Maintain market knowledge, build a strong and reliable supply base as differentiator to competition, drive tendering, negotiation, contracting and sourcing for raw materials. Identify and coordinate approval of promising sources of supply to support innovative solutions ahead of competition,Supply Assurance: drive awareness of active supply issues clarifying business impact, lead resolution plans, deeply assess supply base and identify risks of supply disruption or competitiveness gaps, develop mitigation plans, coordinate with appropriate key stakeholders in case of major issues (crisis management), ensure business continuity
Your profile
- German and English (fluent). Italian and French welcome
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain
- Experience and knowledge of both Operational and Strategic Buying/Category Management
- Ability to persuade and influence suppliers to achieve best outcome
- Hands on experience of using SAP ERP in a purchasing/procurement role as well as Microsoft Office
- Purchasing expertise in tendering, negotiation tactics, planning and contracting
- Procurement mindset and ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
