The Materials Technology Groups are part of the Technology Center– a Global Center of Competence for materials, processing, CAE, testing, and approvals with its own laboratories and a pilot plant - at GF Piping Systems in Schaffhausen. We hold technical responsibility for our plastic raw materials and function as an interface between suppliers, product development, production, and market. We evaluate new materials, lead material innovation projects and support our R&D departments in finding sustainable solutions for our products.

Your tasks

Tasks
  • The main target is to take our polymer compounds to the next level, ready to face tomorrow's requirements
  • Define formulations of complex compounds
  • Organize the sampling of compounds and the production of parts
  • Analyse and evaluate material properties
  • Compare the mechanical, thermal and chemical properties of the parts to the requirements of the industrial applications they are being used in
  • Document results and present results to the team

Your profile

Profile
  • Student in the field of polymer science, polymer chemistry, chemical engineering or similar
  • Chemical knowledge would be a plus
  • Good knowledge of polymers, plastic processing and polymer analysis
  • High level of commitment and independent working style
  • Enjoyment in hands-on and systematic work
  • Confident handling of IT and MS Office
  • As we work in an international environment, German and English language skills on a good level are needed
