Main Tasks

Tasks
  • Collaborate effectively with the sales team to provide technical offers and quotations on automation systems, either on a stand-alone basis or combined with GFMS or other OEM equipment.
  • Support the sales management efforts in expanding the automation market and help to streamline the sales process protocol on automation orders.
  • Provide product updates and education to all OEM’s on the integration and automation technology solutions.
  • Identify new opportunities for automation and design new automation processes.
  • Research cost reduction possibilities of automation installation and implementation. Provide technical support and product training to Sales Managers and Distributors and travel with the sales team when needed.
  • Interface with customers on automation projects and provide technical overview and support on all automation installations.
  • Develop and maintain clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment or processes.
  • Assist with trade show activities, including presentations, demonstrations, and preparation of product information.

Minimum Requirements

Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in automation, process control, or engineering; and three to five years related experience and/or training, preferably in a machine tool or manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior knowledge of automation and tooling systems and processes.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projects. Proficiency with CAD and Solid Works Software is required.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret documents such as processes and procedures, technical publications, and legal, financial, and sales documents. Effectively communicate ideas, both written and verbal, to customers, management, or employees of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot situations as they arise using strong conceptual thinking abilities. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in various forms with several abstract and concrete variables.

This position may require the Automation & Systems Integration Engineer to work irregular hours and regularly travel to customer sites, trade shows, or other company locations both nationally and internationally.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
