What's the role?
In the role of Transportation Specialist, you will manage logistics partners, including carriers and freight forwarders, ensuring seamless transportation solutions that meet Hilti’s high standards. Responsibilities include end-to-end supplier management, optimizing service levels, building strong partnerships, and addressing challenges or feedback from internal stakeholders. What does the role involve?
Global Transportation Coordination:
You’ll be part of the team coordinating transportation across continents. From Europe to Asia, the Americas, Asia to Europe etc. Your goal will be to ensure that the products are delivered on time, within budget and ensuring internal customer satisfaction.

Route Optimization & Efficiency:
You’ll create and refine transport routes that reduce costs, increase efficiency, and ensure timely delivery. Whether it’s ocean freight, air cargo, or road transport, you’ll always look for the most optimal solution.

Freight Management:
You’ll manage relationships with global carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers ensuring service levels are met across all regions. Also you will support the contract negotiation, for instance data gathering, supplier trainings on negotiation tools and other necessary activities in RFQ process.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
When things don’t go as planned, you’ll jump into action, finding solutions quickly to resolve delays, shipment or customs issues. You’ll keep all stakeholders informed and ensure everything gets back on track.

Transportation data analysis
The important part of your job will be to gather and analyze material and transportation data, building different reports and their outputs in order to help the team in making the right decisions and plan accordingly.

Communication & Collaboration:
Working across time zones and cultures, you’ll collaborate with our teams in Europe, North America, Asia, and beyond, ensuring smooth communication and understanding throughout the transportation process.

What you need is:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent experience (e.g., apprenticeship) with strong knowledge of the transportation market and key players
  • 3+ years of experience in global transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel, Power BI, etc.
  • Effective communication in English; additional language skills and cross-cultural awareness are a plus.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a collaborative, team-player attitude and adaptability to time zones and regulations
