What's the role?
As Head of Lean Global Logistics (GL), you will be part of our Global Logistics organization and deploy Lean management principles and behaviors. You will have the opportunity to develop and drive the Lean enterprise as a means to Operational Excellence. With your positive attitude you will bring energy and excitement to the Logistics organization through a high level of engagement with key stakeholders and Global/Regional Lean Managers. Therefore, you will be responsible for developing the next steps in our Lean strategy for Global Logistics, steering the implementation and delivering the expected business impact on sustainable value creation, while supporting the strategic behaviors of entrepreneurial business partnerships, and customer and team member engagement.

What does the role involve?
• Develop and lead the deployment of Hilti Lean Systems in Global Logistics and steer the transformation towards a Lean enterprise. Monitor, track, and audit process and progress of Lean activities in our teams to continuously improve processes and performance. Ensure business impact regarding sustainable value creation as well as customer and team member engagement.

• Identify cross functional opportunities in Globally (HQ, Regions, Market Organizations, etc.) to improve overall value stream efficiency and conduct step change and improvement projects accordingly. Leverage logistics Lean organizations in regions, market organizations to influence Lean orientations globally.

• Develop, continuously review, and improve our Lean Core Systems by looking for new tools, methods and standards then incorporating those into the Lean Core Systems and transfer the improvements to our departments & regions. Specifically, working together with the operational excellence and logistics communities in other departments.

• Ensure sustainability of Hilti Lean Core Systems through future skilling, education, and certification programs for all levels of team members. Drive Lean leadership programs that enable GL leaders to train, coach, and engage team members while driving sustainable deployments of lean systems. Own the certification of these programs.

• Develop and lead the GL Lean Team and community within Hilti. Lead the Global Logistics Lean managers and act as a functional leader of the global logistics managers community within the regions (app. 19 Lean experts and many practitioners). Build succession plans and coach accordingly to ensure robust organization of lean leaders.

What you need is:
  • Technical/Business Administration University degree or MBA
  • Proven team leading experience
  • Broad experience in Lean projects with min. 5-7 years working experience in an international environment
  • Expertise in Lean tools and methods (e.g. 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Obeya)
  • Experience in leading and track record in implementing Lean Projects
  • Excellent English communication skills, further languages including German a benefit
