Process Engineer

Medartis develops, manufactures and distributes titanium screws and plates, surgical instruments and system solutions for fracture fixation. The Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering services to support efficient manufacturing processes. Engineering services may include process development, project management, process validation, clean room support, and troubleshooting.

Your responsibilities

  • Creating, maintaining, and improving controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, in process inspection sheets, bill of materials and routers
  • Developing and supporting a wide variety of processing applications such as machining, finishing, cleaning, packaging, etc
  • Conducting feasibility study on advanced processes to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements
  • Establishing and improving process methods to meet performance and quality requirements
  • Develop and/or communicate Cost Savings projects
  • Maintain KPI metrics in an assigned area as well as daily/weekly/monthly reporting
  • Develop process, system, or training aids to improve operations KPI metrics of an assigned area
  • Liaison/Leader of Operations Team Members and CNC Programming to improve processes
  • Developing, leading, and executing project plans for new product introductions from prototype phases thru launch
  • Communicating (written and verbal) direction and project plans with appropriate personnel from other departments
  • Supporting packaging and clean room activities
  • Leading equipment qualification and process validation project(s)
  • Solving a variety of complex product and/or process performance issues
  • Leading and/or participating on CAPA teams
  • Supporting technical questions from suppliers

Your qualifications

  • B.S.in engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, Or other technical or advanced degree plus 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or technical role is preferred. Also applicable is 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations as a CNC Programmer, Engineering Technician, or other technical role.
  • Sound understanding of concepts and principles for manufacturing and new product processing and a basic knowledge of these elements in areas such as Quality, Development, and Validation
  • Full working knowledge of all supporting department needs and capabilities, including the ability to discern when inaccurate information is supplied and offer ideas for how to correct it
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanisms required to implement processes and manage product flow
  • Full working knowledge of the development process and procedures
  • Competence with drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Ability to balance marketing, manufacturing, and design requirements to meet customer requirements
  • Ability to lead and prioritize complex projects assignments and complete work in a timely manner
  • Good problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools
  • Knowledge in Lean Principles and or Six Sigma or other problem solving methodology is preferred
  • Knowledge on how to conduct investigations and root cause analysis is preferred
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate within a cross-functional team to complete critical project tasks
  • Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
