Product Owner

In this exciting and diverse role, you are a technological ambassador who conveys and promotes Newton’s (a software standardization initative) architectural vision, strategy, and principles to internal employees, machine development teams, and management.

Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the Newton backlog and collaborate closely with Rieter teams using Newton to clearly define use cases/requirements and priorities
  • Coordinate with the Essential Product Owner on the overarching roadmap and overall program management, incorporating Rieter’s strategic goals. Ensure seamless integration of the Newton platform into the overall digital product strategy and support synchronization between various product developments
  • Ensure that the product vision from product management (Product Unit Digital) is communicated, marketed, and conveyed to all stakeholders, especially technical stakeholders
  • Ensure all the Newton requirements are approved and aligned with all the internal customer needs and priority, the PO is the ambassodor of the customers in the Newton team to ensure alignment between the development team and the business goals
  • Ensure alignment of the budget with the backlog and available resources, and that the backlog aligns with the overall schedule of the Digital, Software & Controls department

Your Profile

  • Tertiary-level technical education in computer science, software, electrical engineering, or equivalent
  • Several years of professional experience in leading software development projects and software teams, preferably in an international environment
  • Familiarity with agile development methods and ideally worked as a Product Owner or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in using modern software modeling tools (UML) and knowledge of current software architecture and design principles
  • Strong analytical skills, enjoyment in interacting with various stakeholders, and excellent communication and management skills
  • Experience in product management or a willingness to further develop in this area
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
