Shipping & Customs Coordinator

The Shipping & Customs Coordinator serves as the primary owner for all inbound and outbound international shipments for the site. This role acts as the main point of contact for co-workers, logistics service providers and is responsible for coordinating shipments, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations. With increased tariff and customs complexity, this position plays a critical role in minimizing delays, controlling costs, supporting uninterrupted operations and ensuring proper clearance for all international shipments.

Your responsibilities

  • Serve as the site’s primary point of contact and subject matter owner for all domestic and international shipping activities, including issue resolution and escalation
  • Coordinate, manage and archive documents of all inbound and outbound international shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Prepare, review, and maintain required international shipping and customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, international trade regulations, and company policies
  • Monitor and address shipment delays, customs holds, tariff impacts, and clearance issues
  • Partner with internal local and global teams (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations) to support shipping needs and resolve concerns
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and external partners to ensure smooth shipment execution
  • Track shipments, shipment performance, costs, and trends; identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
  • Support audits, reporting, and recordkeeping related to international trade and customs compliance
  • Stay current on changes to tariffs, trade regulations, and shipping requirements that may impact operations

Your qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in international shipping, logistics, or customs coordination
  • Hands-on experience working with international shipping processes strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of customs regulations, international trade compliance, and tariff considerations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage issues through resolution
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with shipping systems, ERP platforms (preferably SAP), and Microsoft Office tools
