Maintenance Technician

Medartis develops, manufactures and distributes titanium screws and plates, surgical instruments and system solutions for fracture fixation. The maintenance technician operations supports the daily workflows of OEM and 3rd Party product manufacturing through the workshop and ensures the manufacturing equipment is operational. This role involves supporting the manufacturing team by fixing or trouble shooting equipment to enable minimal production down time, logging issues and corresponding fixes, contacting partners for maintenance scheduling, and executing preemptive maintenance tasks on equipment as per internal processes.
The Maintenance Technician Operations will also be responsible for the set-up and management (purchase & storage) of a spare parts stock.

Your responsibilities

  • Performing regular maintenance work on machines, equipment, and systems to ensure they function properly and to minimize downtime
  • Identifying and resolving malfunctions or problems during operation to ensure production continuity
  • Developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans for early detection and avoidance of potential problems
  • Carefully documenting all maintenance work, repairs, and replacement parts
  • Maintaining maintenance logs to ensure complete records of work performed, problems identified, and their solutions via maintenance software
  • Working closely with other departments and external machine manufacturers
  • Compliance with and implementation of all relevant safety regulations and guidelines during maintenance work to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Active participation in continuous improvement processes (CIP) and internal small projects to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Complies with and enforces guidelines, regulations, and Medartis values.
  • Supports the implementation of actions or measures in the area that have been identified in workshops, projects, or Shopfloor meetings, or implements themself.

Your qualifications

  • Maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment
  • Expertise in quickly and accurately identifying machine malfunctions and developing effective solutions
  • Careful documentation of all maintenance and repair work
  • Has knowledge of OSHA standards and keeps the team up to date with standards changes
  • Ability to organize and maintain a spare parts stock
  • Guiding and motivating team members and helping to ensure a productive work environment.
  • Industry and/or trade school certification in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering or related fields with focus on hands on problem solving
  • Optional Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering with the goal of expanding hands-on expertise
  • Lean management certifications are an advantage
  • OSHA certification is an advantage
  • Min. 2 years of maintenance work performed in a manufacturing or agricultural environment
  • Experience in regulated Environment
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Confident usage of MS 365 Apps
  • Experience in the use of maintenance management software
  • Willing to keep learning and participate in local education programs
  • Can communicate and work effectively within a team
